[ After their odd little reunion in Caden's markets, Hilda had, begrudgingly, done the favour that the Doctor had asked of her. But in typical Hilda fashion she had fulfilled the request and then some. Managing to track down the room that he's staying at the Sarstina but finding it empty, Hilda leaves her gift for him on the table in his room.
The tiered wooden jewelry box looks sturdy and polished from the outside, making it seem unordinary - at least until he opens the compartments. The drawers are lined in a dark blue velvet, smooth to the touch and embroidered with various Abraxian constellations and arcana symbols. And in each drawer? Each drawer holds a patterned bow tie. There's about six of them; the first one is a little more plain while the others seem to progress in boldness when it comes to print or colour. From their romp the markets he seems the sort who probably doesn't mind a little variation in his wardrobe choices. And when in doubt, options are always good. At least Hilda thinks so.
Accompanying the box is a neatly written note in the shape of a bowtie. ]
[ The next time the Doctor goes to his Tardis in the Horizon, he will find that the base of it is absolutely covered and decorated with a variety of beautiful flowers of all colors. It was lovingly planted around the edges and will never stop blossoming or go anywhere unless he wants it to. ]
[ At some point in December when the Doctor returns to his room at the Sarstina, he'll find a neatly but beautifully wrapped box waiting for him. There seems to be a trend with the gifts Hilda is giving him but she hopes that he won't mind terribly.
Upon opening the box he'll be greeted with several embroidery hoops, eachone with a space motif. And perhaps, somewhere on one of them, he'll see a familiar, but small looking spaceship, rocketing across the night sky. They come with all the hardware required to hang them up on the walls if he so wishes. Tucked behind them, the Doctor will also find another bowtie, one a little more fancy than the others she had made him. With the upcoming festival and parties coming up, she hopes he'll get some wear out of it then. ]
[The package is an unassuming one, of brown paper, the wax seal on it the only indication of its sender.
Inside is an astrolabe, reflecting Abraxan astrology. In the dark, the Doctor will find that it glows blue, not unlike what he saw on the pocket watch that Astarion was showing off.
No note! But it's probably not hard to guess who it's from.]
[the package is non-descript, but it's definitely big enough to pique the curiosity of the recipient as to open it as soon as possible. it's definitely been checked through, tied up back into its box after the fact. inside, an amount of homemade goods have been stacked atop each other: candles, soaps, and moisturizing lotions.
a neat box lies at the bottom, though, and once unwrapped, it'll reveal a bowtie, evergreen in color, with a wooden carving accent to accessorize it further.
[ There's some nebulous timeline around when this is sent, but assume it's either during or shortly after her gossip sessionwith Julia (mostly because there's no way she's letting this go unspoken). ]
[ Between Zagreus and Michael, Claire has been resting at least, but she needs something other than rest, other than a few minutes of quiet, and she lets out a soft breath. ]
[ Some magic healing has helped (not hers) but there are still too many children trying to scratch their own skin off, little hands wrapped with tape the best she can, trimming fingernails down to the quick.
[ She only needs to ask once and he'll be there so quickly, it's almost as if he were already ten steps ahead of her. As though the question was answered before the thought occurred to her. ]
[ Nebula's always kept busy. Given the infrequent visits to Nocwich and - in particular her own desire to avoid it - that meant this being a rare time she did visit meant she was particularly busy. A decision she's having mixed feelings about - simultaneously tired of people but not mad she's done it. She refuses to give a word to it. ]
[ And unlike her first time here, she has a small spattering of pocket change that can be used for something beneficial. They don't exactly present weapons for purchase - annoying - but among them all she sees a small spattering of trinkets that she... glances at and ignores. Instead she's interested in the small collection of wires and other bits that could be useful.]
[ For Rocket, not for her. ]
[ That she almost doesn't notice the man nearby - almost. Because although she doesn't exactly stiffen she straightens at the sight of the stranger Spaceman and tilts her head: ]
Do you always manage to find people?
[ It sounds a little less accusatory than she wants it to. Like she's not actually mad, ugh ]
[ In contrast, of course, very much like him — the Doctor is always eager to visit Nocwich. It's a chance to see those from other territories, the friends he's made in his time here, but more than that, he's never one to shy away from making new friends, meeting people he's never met before.
There are many faces he's always most hopeful to see when he comes here, those he hopes might just happen to be visiting at the same time, though he knows of some who more than likely might prefer to avoid coming here too often. So it's with that in mind he's pleasantly surprised to see Nebula.
And his smile is an easy and very soft one at the sight of her. He's glad to see her, very glad. ]
I do make it a habit. A promise, in fact!
[ Even if he doesn't always have occasion to say it aloud. ]
You're just the one I wanted to see!
[ This makes logical sense in his mind, even if he hadn't been sure to count on even searching for her in the crowd today. ]
