[ After their odd little reunion in Caden's markets, Hilda had, begrudgingly, done the favour that the Doctor had asked of her. But in typical Hilda fashion she had fulfilled the request and then some. Managing to track down the room that he's staying at the Sarstina but finding it empty, Hilda leaves her gift for him on the table in his room.
The tiered wooden jewelry box looks sturdy and polished from the outside, making it seem unordinary - at least until he opens the compartments. The drawers are lined in a dark blue velvet, smooth to the touch and embroidered with various Abraxian constellations and arcana symbols. And in each drawer? Each drawer holds a patterned bow tie. There's about six of them; the first one is a little more plain while the others seem to progress in boldness when it comes to print or colour. From their romp the markets he seems the sort who probably doesn't mind a little variation in his wardrobe choices. And when in doubt, options are always good. At least Hilda thinks so.

[ The next time the Doctor goes to his Tardis in the Horizon, he will find that the base of it is absolutely covered and decorated with a variety of beautiful flowers of all colors. It was lovingly planted around the edges and will never stop blossoming or go anywhere unless he wants it to. ]

[ At some point in December when the Doctor returns to his room at the Sarstina, he'll find a neatly but beautifully wrapped box waiting for him. There seems to be a trend with the gifts Hilda is giving him but she hopes that he won't mind terribly.
Upon opening the box he'll be greeted with several embroidery hoops, each one with a space motif. And perhaps, somewhere on one of them, he'll see a familiar, but small looking spaceship, rocketing across the night sky. They come with all the hardware required to hang them up on the walls if he so wishes. Tucked behind them, the Doctor will also find another bowtie, one a little more fancy than the others she had made him. With the upcoming festival and parties coming up, she hopes he'll get some wear out of it then. ]

[The package is an unassuming one, of brown paper, the wax seal on it the only indication of its sender.
Inside is an astrolabe, reflecting Abraxan astrology. In the dark, the Doctor will find that it glows blue, not unlike what he saw on the pocket watch that Astarion was showing off.
No note! But it's probably not hard to guess who it's from.]

[the package is non-descript, but it's definitely big enough to pique the curiosity of the recipient as to open it as soon as possible. it's definitely been checked through, tied up back into its box after the fact. inside, an amount of homemade goods have been stacked atop each other: candles, soaps, and moisturizing lotions.
a neat box lies at the bottom, though, and once unwrapped, it'll reveal a bowtie, evergreen in color, with a wooden carving accent to accessorize it further.
a small note sits under the box.]

[ An excited scribble comes across his eyes, filtered to him. ]
Doctor!!!!! I think Endrborrin heard me! She's sent special butterflies to my flowers!
Doctor!!!!! I think Endrborrin heard me! She's sent special butterflies to my flowers!
They're multi-winged and colorful, they're beautiful, I know they're hers because she has pendants very clearly designed this way. Also they only appear by my flowers. Hold on let me see if I can draw it.
[ She draws a very basic version of this. Clean lines, easy to see, although not heavily detailed. ]
She must be telling me that she's noticed. I don't know what that means next but still!

Yes and spring is coming around the corner, maybe that's when we may be able to take the next step. Whatever that might mean.
For now I'm enjoying my new butterfly friends. They're so beautiful.

I've been telling her my life story, I don't know if that helped more than praying, knowing who I am. It's anyone's guess, but it worked.
There are! They follow the flowers so when I hold them they stay with me. I'll come up with names. I'll have to think of a theme.

You're biased! But you may be right, I won't know until I hopefully get an audience with her. I'm not sure if that's how they do things here, so I'm still learning what the protocol is. Someone told me they don't really talk like humans, so I have to figure out what that means.
[ All the gods she met are very human in appearance. ]
I do think characters from a book. Maybe all the characters I know that can fly?

I could start naming them after the characters in the movie, there are plenty of them!
[ Until she gets more and will have to keep searching for ideas. She has no idea yet what the second settlement looks like, she's only seen them on her own shrine. It's probably insane there, she'll have to go tomorrow. ]
I hope so. I don't mind if they communicate through feelings or thoughts instead, as long as we start a dialogue of some kind. I know she can't be a teacher in the traditional way, but that's okay. I can still learn through her.

It would be nice having you here full time, but I think you would definitely go crazy in Solvunn with how quiet and still it is here. Even with the best of company.
Trust me, you'd hate it. Even YOUR good mood might run out surrounded by goats and gods all the time. The stillness is hard for me, but there's something good about it too. Easier to focus on training.
Once upon a time.
There were two stars and one was faster but farther behind, and the closer it got to the other, miles away, they started to talk. They knew that sooner or later it would move past and be lost to space forever, but thought that the seconds in-between of companionship along the vastness of black around them was worth the loss felt when it was gone. They talked of everything they'd seen so far and wondered about what was waiting for them at the end of the universe. They didn't have names so when the faster star moved past it, they were able to say 'see you at the end of the universe, friend,' and be glad that frozen for a few moments in time, they weren't alone. They had the best friend they could ever ask for, and whether it was seconds or years, it was worth it to have someone waiting at the end.

Silly is good too! We weren't competing for best star stories.
[ She's laughing. ]
I've been learning the new star system here, I assume you've been paying attention to.
