BACKGROUND
the doctor is a time lord from the planet gallifrey, a race of beings with the ability to regenerate, allowing them to change appearance and personality when fatally wounded or dying of old age.
the doctor travels through time and space in the TARDIS, a time machine that looks like a blue police box on the outside but is much larger on the inside.
in his travels across the universe, the doctor is a champion of justice and defender of the innocent, called to help wherever & whenever he can, most often saving planets, fighting monsters, and keeping the universe safe with the help of dear friends. the doctor is often embroiled in conflicts with various alien species, historical figures, and futuristic civilizations, abhors violence but is not afraid to stand up against tyranny and injustice.
the doctor has extensive knowledge of science, history, and species throughout the universe. despite the many challenges faced, the doctor maintains a sense of humor and an unwavering belief in the power of compassion and understanding, holding firm to a sense of hope and optimism.
